Photonics Integrated Circuit (PIC) Simulation
This interactive demo lets you compare Kronos's 3D electromagnetic solver against the conventional FDFD solver for 3D vectorial Maxwell's equations in silicon photonics applications. On the left, you can tweak device feature scale, wavelength, and resolution to generate random photonic structures. On the right, you'll see both the steady-state electric field magnitude, which comprises three 3D components (Ex, Ey, Ez), in front, top, and side cross-sectional views, as well as 3D renderings capturing the field's time dynamics. Arrows overlay each view, indicating the local direction of the electric field.
